Description

Close Reading is one of the hot topics in reading today. This strategy promotes student understanding by increasing vocabulary knowledge and other important components of complex texts. Participants will be able to utilize the strategy in their classrooms to help increase reading comprehension across the curriculum.

Literature Circles are a great way to give students choice and voice in their reading experience. Learn how to implement this strategy effectively to increase student engagement and learning while expanding their reading horizons.

Cost

Member Fee: $125/person
Nonmember Fee: $200/person

Available for 1 hour of graduate credit through Baker University for an additional $90 payable to Baker. Outside assignment is required for the college credit.

Cancellations must be received 48 hours in advance or fees will be due; same district substitutions are allowed. If Orion is not notified of a cancellation, the district is still responsible for the enrollment fee. We understand that there can be emergencies and we will work with those on an individual basis once we have been contacted in a timely manner.
