Orion Education & Training 13939 Diagonal Rd. Clearwater, KS. 67026

Description

The Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) is offering regional trainings regarding Social-Emotional Growth and School Mental Health.  Beginning with the Kansans Can Integrated Learning Process, which is the Kansas Social-Emotional Growth Framework, participants will be exposed to a method for integrating, social-emotional learning, human growth and development, and academic development into a cohesive and dynamic process.  Other topics will include:

  •  Trauma-informed practices; building a responsive school culture and climate
  • Embedding social-emotional growth across the curriculum and into instruction
  • Strategies for meaningful family and community engagement that supports Social-Emotional Growth and School Mental Health.

KSDE encourages district and/or building teams attend this training, as facilitated plan time will be embedded throughout the day. Participants will be provided access to planning tools to assist in assessing strengths and needs relative to social-emotional learning, school mental health, and school culture and climate.
Participants will leave this training with a core understanding of social-emotional growth and school mental health principals, and how these principles can be utilized within tiered systems of support to meet the needs of all students.  Utilizing planning tools and work time provides an opportunity to participants to set the direction for future planning within their districts/schools.
