Understanding Complex Text and Utilizing Literature Circles

Where

Orion Education & Training 13939 Diagonal Rd. Clearwater, KS. 67026

Description

Are your students struggling with reading and making meaning of complex text? This course will provide knowledge and understanding about the Close Reading strategy. This strategy promotes student understanding by increasing vocabulary knowledge and other important components of complex text. Participants will be able to utilize the strategy in their classrooms to help increase reading comprehension across the curriculum.

What better way to deepen reading comprehension than opening up conversations with literacy circles? These conversations are guided by the students’ responses to the text. Learn how to plan lit circles for your grade level and engage students in understanding story elements, vocabulary and figurative language.
