During the 2020-2021 school year, KSDE required 6 hours of introductory training in the areas of Dyslexia and Structured Literacy. All new staff members for the 2024-2025 school year who fall in one of the following categories will need to participate in this introductory training: elementary education endorsed, early childhood unified, high incidence Special Education K-12, English Language Arts 5-12, Reading Specialists, School Psychologists, Paraeducators (highly recommended). Come learn what's true and what's not about dyslexia as well as the components of structured literacy.

Cancellations must be received 48 hours in advance or fees will be due; same district substitutions are allowed. If Orion is not notified of a cancellation, the district is still responsible for the enrollment fee. We understand that there can be emergencies and we will work with those on an individual basis once we have been contacted in a timely manner.
